Overview
Hamata, a small Bedouin village, is situated around 120 km South of Marsa Alam. It is here that you will find the Southernmost hotels as well as a small harbour. From here there are weekly departures of some safari boats for diving trips to the Deep South as well as St. John's Reefs. The reefs situated just outside Hamata are part of the Fury Shoal, the highlight of any dive trip in the Southern Red Sea. Until now this dive site has been spared from mass diving tourism. Prior to the opening of Lahami Bay Resort it was only possible to explore the Fury Shoal via safari boat. At the more than 28 reefs only occasionally will you encounter the odd safari or day trip boat. Only rarely will you find more than one boat at the dive sites. Famous dive spots such as Shaab Maksur, Malahi, Shaab Claudio, Abu Diab, Abu Galawa Kebir and many, many others invite you to descend into a fantastic, nearly untouched underwater world.

Baracuda Diving Center Lahami Bay
Our diving center is located at the heart of the beautifully arranged and landscaped 5-star Lahami Bay Resort & Gardens, which to date remains the Southernmost hotel at the Egyptian Red Sea coast. The 220 guest rooms are situated in modern, two-storey buildings, arranged in a magnificent garden area. A beautiful, sandy beach and the view out at the Red Sea complete the picture. Barely 100m out from the Beach our kilometres-long house reef starts. This reef is a barrier reef, with depths between 6-60 metres, interrupted by some ergs and small coral blocks, with a unique diversity of coral and underwater life. The dive center is managed by Baracuda Management, one of the biggest diving federations worldwide. A team of experienced, multilingual dive instructors and guides, all with intensive first-aid training, welcomes you aboard.
